Common mistakes of Ironman preparation for age groups athletes  

It doesn't take 6 months of serious preparation to complete an Ironman and attain a good result.

You don't need to compete in a marathon as part of the build up - this alone is a big effort and you risk burnout.

You don't need to train copious hours each week - it needs to be balance, challenging and fun.

HERT Bussleton program starts 13th September, 2010

The HERT Busselton IM program commences in mid September and kicks off with an orientation event and seminars to meet the coaches, some elite athletes and gain an insight before action (your training and preparation). It will be like a camp at home.

The program is packed with advice, education and is both time and cost effective

It IM specific clinics where you can learn and practice race pacing, race nutrition, transitions and much more under the guidance of World Championship winning coaches and athletes.

What should I do beforehand?

In the mean time you just need to be generally fit, healthy and enjoying training.

Under take some technical training and gym work for better technique.

By mid September ensure that you are able to run 16km and cycle 90km and we will take care of the rest.
