CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS

Kemp and Drinan go 1-2 at NSW Club Champs

Chris Kemp and Troy Drinan took line honours for a HERT 1-2 at the NSW Club Championships, each winning their respective categories,  Kemp claining 25-29 while Drinan secured the win in 30-34. Jennifer Erskine placed fourth in the womens.

The NSW Club championships format is category only, with no elite waves as competitors compete for their clubs. Kemp led the under 30 wave from sart to finish, exiting the water with a group of three and immediately riding from the group and maintained a good lead into the run leg. Drinan too had a great swim to exit with the leaders in his wave and posted a strong ride into the transition. Both ran superbly to extend a winning margin. In the end Kemp's winning margin was close to three minutes.

"I was really happy with the event, which is part of my lead up to racing in Seoul in the 24th of May. My swim work is really paying off, with the ability to swim with the leaders and exit with plenty of energy for the bike. The solid result has me excited for the coming racing in Asia."
