Huskisson Triathlon Festival:

Friday - 1km Ocean swim

Jennifer Erskine started the Festival well in the opening 1km swim event winning the feamle division and finishing second overall in the 1000m ocean swim, being pipped on the beach sprint by Spot Anderson.

Saturday - 1500m Dash, 10km Fun run and Sprint Triathlon

Jenni Erskine continued the weekend success, winning the F25-29 age group and placing second overall. Jen Weatherstone won the F30-34 category and has enjoyed the podium three weeks running finally making it to the top step on the course where she won the Australian Sprint title the year earlier. Mal Smyth claimed a 5th in M30-34.

Ben Webster started the morning with a 7th place in the 1500m dash for cash in a time of 4:10 and later took line honours in the 10km fun run posting a 30.44.

Sunday - Australian Long Course Championships

Dave Clark out line honours and claimed the Australlian Long Course Championship for M25-29. In what could be decsribed as a retro revival of former NSWIS junior stars and former HERT athletes that included World Championship medallists Nicholas Hornman and Trent Chapman.

Clark was joined on the bike by Nicholas Hornman out the front end of the field. Troy Drinan had exited the water with Corey Chapman, just 30 seconds down on Trent Chapman, however the pair were unable to match the former ITU World Cup athletes transition speed and found himself riding solo for the 82km cycle leg. Vlad Shatrov was out in the second pack and found himself with a drafting penalty by the end of the cycle leg.

As Clark and Hornman came into T2, Clark's comfortable ride had him poised to surge on the run and lay down a 68min run, the fastest of the day. Hornman held on for third overall and second in 25-29. Trent Chapman took the 30-34 age group with Drinan claiming third and securing his qualification for the World Long Course Championships in Perth come October. Shatrv ran solidly posting a 71 min run and closing in to finish 5th after serving a drafting penalty.

Kylie Elbourne and Julia Rutcsh put together solida races as they head towards the Port Macquarie Ironman on April 5th.
